FQL Investment Scam Case: Complaints and Recovery Steps

What is happening in the FQL investment case?

The FQL investment case in Tamil Nadu is under police investigation. It concerns allegations that people were persuaded to put money into an app-based scheme with promises of unusually fast returns. The useful question for someone affected is now how to document a payment and connect it with the investigation.

The Times of India reported on 4 October 2026 that two accused already in custody had been detained under the Goondas Act following an Economic Offences Wing recommendation. That is a reported detention measure, not a conviction or a refund announcement.

Our assessment: the reported police case and the promises described in it give strong grounds to treat this as suspected investment fraud. Do not send more money to recover an earlier FQL payment.

Which app and names appear in the reports?

A 7 September Times of India report, citing police information, names FQL Investment Trading, FQL Exchange App and VG Investment Group Syndicate in the alleged scheme. It says six cases were transferred to the Economic Offences Wing, or EOW, on 31 August.

The report describes alleged promises that money could double in 40–45 days, with cash and UPI payments collected and some funds converted into USDT. It also records that two accused had denied wrongdoing and said they were investors themselves.

These names come from reporting on the investigation. They do not establish that every website or business using the initials FQL is connected. For your report, preserve the exact app name, download source, group link and recipient details you used. Do not install a new “FQL refund app” found in search results.

DT Next’s report of 8 September 2026 identifies the FQL Exchange app with fqlin.com. Treat that as an address named in reporting on the investigation, not a recommendation to visit or install anything from it. Compare it with your saved records; a similar app name alone does not establish a connection.

Why early payments did not guarantee safety

The New Indian Express reported on 30 August that police had received thousands of petitions and described investors being encouraged to move from FQL to VG Investment. It reported that payments had been received for a period before later losses were alleged.

An early payment proves only that a payment happened. It does not show where that money came from or whether the business can meet later requests. If an account keeps adding rewards while withdrawals fail, preserve both records rather than treating the displayed total as money you possess.

Avoid using an online victim count to estimate your own claim. Reports give different totals at different stages. What matters for your case is a clear record of your payments, receipts and the person who accepted the money.

What should an affected investor do first?

Tell your bank or payment service promptly if you suspect fraud. Give the payment reference and recipient, and ask whether it can flag, trace or recall the transfer. Explain whether you paid directly, sent money to an agent or bought crypto before sending it onward.

In India, the official National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal accepts cybercrime reports, and 1930 provides help with online cyber complaints. These are Indian channels. If you live elsewhere, also use the relevant reporting route in your own country.

For the FQL investigation, ask the local police or the EOW unit handling your case how to submit your individual payment evidence. Use an official police contact, not a number posted by a stranger in an investor group. Keep the acknowledgement or complaint number.

If you have already reported, add new evidence under the existing reference where possible. Explain any links to a second report so investigators can avoid counting the same payment twice.

Keep any effort to recover money within formal complaint and legal channels. DT Next reported on 12 October 2026 that police arrested eight investors accused of threatening an FQL agent and a relative. Losing money does not make threats or private pressure a safe way to collect it.

How to build a clear FQL payment record

Make one row for each payment. Record the date, amount, currency, method, recipient and reference. Then add what the recipient promised and any money returned.

  • UPI or bank transfer: keep the transaction ID and beneficiary details visible on your statement.
  • Cash: keep receipts and messages acknowledging the amount, date and collector. Identify any witness without inventing a missing receipt.
  • Cryptocurrency: keep the transaction hash, network and destination address. If you first paid an agent who later bought crypto, record your payment to that agent separately.
  • App rewards: save the balance and withdrawal history, but label these as displayed figures rather than bank receipts.

For example, if you paid 50,000 and actually received 5,000 back in the same currency, record both amounts. An app balance of 80,000 is a separate claim; it does not mean you paid in 80,000. Let the authority handling the case decide how your claim should be assessed.

Will arrests lead to a payout?

An arrest or detention does not establish how much recoverable money exists. Any later payout needs an official process and instructions from the body handling it. A private message claiming to have access to seized funds is not that process.

Do not pay for a place on a refund list or transfer money to “prove” ownership of your original deposit. Keep any such message as evidence. Our recovery-service checklist explains how to check an offer before giving someone more money.

Need help organising your FQL case?

If you paid into an FQL offer and cannot recover your money, we can help you make sense of the records and prepare your next questions. Have the app name, payment method and any complaint reference ready.

Discuss my situation — free phone consultation. We will help you understand the next steps. Police and the relevant legal process determine the investigation and any recovery; a consultation cannot guarantee a payout.
