Bond Rate Compare

The number may be real while the offer is not

A register search can go wrong if it stops at finding a matching number. In the FCA's clone warning, 653324 belongs to the genuine Mr William Conway. The notice gives his legitimate business contact details at Pontefract Van Centre and points to pontefractvancentre.co.uk. The FCA expressly says he has no connection with the clone.

The warning is therefore about the people using bondratecompare.co.uk, not an accusation against Conway or the genuine business. Copying authorised details can make an unrelated investment offer look regulated. Even a plausible interest rate, polished brochure or real company name does not establish who is receiving the money.

Why Google can show two FCA notices

An earlier FCA notice, first published on 11 April 2025 and updated on 14 April, names BOND RATE COMPARE/Compare Bonds Ltd and www.bondratecompare.co.uk. It describes an unauthorised offer and gives a claimed address in Cyprus.

The later notice, dated 20 August 2026, identifies the domain as a clone and distinguishes the genuine firm. Both documents concern the same domain, with or without www. They do not, by themselves, establish who controlled the site throughout that period. For a complaint, use the notice and documents relevant to the date of your approach or payment rather than assuming every old contact is still current.

Before transferring savings, match the whole offer

Check more than the register number. Compare the exact website, email address, telephone number, legal entity and permission for the proposed service. If a named bank or investment issuer is involved, contact it through details obtained independently from its official website. Ask whether the product, representative and payment instructions are genuinely theirs.

A PDF showing your name and an account balance is not evidence that an issuer received your money. Confirm the beneficiary on the payment instruction. If it differs from the named provider, require an explanation and independent verification before paying. Do not use the offer's own telephone number as the only check of its authenticity.

If the money has already left your account

Give your bank the date, amount, beneficiary and payment reference, along with the offer and FCA warning. Explain that you suspect impersonation and ask promptly about recall, fraud reporting and any reimbursement or dispute process that applies. Report the incident to the relevant police service in your country and retain the reference number. Keep correspondence and the original documents, not just screenshots of their headings.

The FCA says the clone itself does not provide the usual Financial Ombudsman Service or FSCS protection. This is not the same as saying every payment-related remedy is unavailable. Those options depend on the payment method, country, date and facts; neither the warning nor a complaint guarantees reimbursement.

Treat any later promise to recover everything for an advance fee as a separate offer to investigate. Our recovery-service checklist explains the checks. If you contacted Bond Rate Compare or lost money, request a free telephone consultation. We can help you understand the documents, identify the payment recipient and prepare your next questions.

Alphavista Exchange advertised investment plans paying up to 300% per trade alongside instant withdrawals and insurance of up to $1 million. Its claimed authorisations were not matched to Alphavista in the CySEC and Seychelles FSA lists checked on 4 November 2026. These combined warning signs support our suspicion of possible fraud. Do not send money on the strength of these claims. The offer described here comes from indexed copies; the website did not open during the latest check.

FXJunction links traders to signal providers, but a broker account balance and FXJunction credits are different things. Its FAQ sets a $100 minimum for redeemable credits and excludes bonus credits. On 4 November 2026, the FAQ said providers keep 70%, or 80% for referred copiers, while the provider page promised 90%. Ask which terms apply to your account. This inconsistency and an old complaint justify scrutiny, but do not prove fraud.

HOS Broker searches lead to hosbroker.site, a trading page using several different names. Its withdrawal-policy link opens no policy, and its legal-page link returned an error. We consider these serious warning signs of possible fraud and would not deposit while the operator and withdrawal rules remain unclear.
