Fake Škoda investment ads: the 5,000 Kč offer explained
Original ad reviewed below. Its claims are the advertiser’s, not our findings. Open the full ad image →

What the advert asks you to believe

The Facebook page Investiční platforma v ČR presents an investment project supposedly created by Škoda for Czech residents. Its text turns a 5,000 Kč starting payment into a promise of 70,000 Kč or more. The picture adds a pensioner at a laptop and claims the money was earned in one week.

That picture supplies the emotional argument: an ordinary older person appears to have succeeded, and the familiar car brand makes the offer feel established. Neither the photograph nor a copied logo proves that Škoda operates the investment. The person pictured is not a verified investor in this investigation.

Original Czech advert claiming that Škoda helped a pensioner earn 70,000 crowns in a week

The company’s denial answers the central question

In an official statement dated 27 March 2023, Škoda Auto said it had no connection with these false investment offers. It also stated that it did not offer investments or investment instruments and that its shares were not publicly traded. That directly contradicts the advert’s claim of a Škoda investment project.

We therefore regard this as a fraudulent impersonation offer. The accusation concerns the offer using the brand’s name; it does not concern the genuine carmaker.

The same statement describes a historical police case involving 60 people and losses exceeding 12 million Czech crowns. These figures show the harm described by the company, but do not establish losses from this particular advert or skodinvesisr.com. The public material does not identify this advert’s operator or a verified recipient of customer payments.

An old advert, a current Active label and a named website

During the 29 October 2026 check, Meta displayed the advert as Active and gave 22 November 2022 as its start date. Those are different facts. This is not evidence of a new 2026 launch, uninterrupted advertising since 2022 or impressions delivered on the day of our check.

The advert’s link names skodinvesisr.com and asks the visitor to fill in a form. The domain failed to resolve in the browser during the check, so the linked website did not open then. That result does not identify who took payments or establish that every later phone call led to the same broker.

If you remember a different address, keep it. Advertisements can use different landing pages. A similar logo or promise alone is not enough to transfer another website’s complaints to your case.

If you gave details or transferred money

If you only filled in a form, save the page address and any confirmation message. A caller may use the registration to sound familiar. Do not provide banking passwords, one-time codes or access to your device. You do not have to make a deposit because you registered.

If you spoke to an adviser, write down the name they used, their phone number, the broker or platform they mentioned and the website they sent you. “Škoda” is the hook in the advert; the payment recipient may have another name. That distinction helps you report the actual transaction.

If you paid, contact your bank or payment provider promptly and explain that the offer falsely used Škoda’s identity. Ask what can be done about the specific transfer. Preserve the receipt, recipient details, chats and any withdrawal request. For cryptocurrency, save the network, transaction hash and receiving wallet address and report the payment to the sending exchange.

Report the advert through Facebook and the suspected fraud to the appropriate authorities in your country. For Czech readers, preserve the material for Policie ČR. A report to Meta can help address the advert; it is not a request to reverse your payment. The genuine Škoda’s official channels can confirm impersonation, but the company’s name on an advert does not make it responsible for money paid to strangers.

If someone offers to recover the loss for an advance fee, check that new offer separately. Our recovery-service guide explains the questions to ask; our withdrawal guide helps you record a blocked payment request.

Talk through the next step

If you contacted a company through this Škoda advert or have already lost money, request a free telephone consultation. We can help you identify the website and payment recipient, understand the warning signs and work out what to do next. Keep your documents for the conversation; do not send passwords or banking codes.
