FxAlchemist: 5–9% a month on autopilot?

What are you being asked to buy?

The offer sounds simple: let software trade for you while you get on with your day. Alchemist's Facebook ad puts a monthly gain of 5–9% beside a promise of full automation. A half-price offer adds a reason to act quickly.

But buying the software and putting money into trades are two separate decisions. You could pay for the program and still lose money when it runs.

The provider's terms say Alchemist works with your own broker account. A broker is the firm through which you place trades. The software trades currencies, such as euros and dollars, as their prices change.

Why the FCA warning matters

Britain's Financial Conduct Authority lists The Algorithmic Trader / FxAlchemist as unauthorised. It advises people to avoid dealing with the firm.

The warning names the-algorithmic-trader.com, fxalchemist.com and the Facebook page The Algorithmic Trading. The page and first domain match the ad we reviewed.

The notice dates from 11 December 2025, with an update on 21 April 2026. It concerns UK financial services; it is not a court finding of fraud. Readers elsewhere should check the rules and permissions that apply in their country.

Does 5–9% a month stand up to scrutiny?

For every 1,000 put into trading, that range suggests a monthly gain of 50–90, before any costs not included in the claim. It is easy to focus on that extra money and overlook a different question: how much could the account lose?

We have not independently verified the advertised returns. The provider's own terms warn that trading can cause large losses. Automation means a program makes trading decisions. It does not mean those decisions will be profitable.

Before relying on a performance chart, ask:

  • Does it show a real-money account or a test?
  • Does it include losing months, open losses and all fees?
  • What was the biggest fall in the account's value?

A screenshot of a good month cannot answer all three. Our guide to checking AI trading bots explains how to assess an offer in more detail.

What does the refund promise cover?

The terms describe a refund of the software fee under certain conditions. These include poor results during the first 14 days after registration and a request by email. Installation conditions also apply.

That is different from repaying money lost in trades. For example, a refund for a program would not, by itself, restore a separate broker account that had fallen in value.

Use the terms you accepted when you bought. Save a copy and check the deadline. We have not tested whether the provider fulfils refund requests.

Already paid? Start with the payment record

If you suspect deception, contact your bank or payment service promptly. Explain the purchase and ask about dispute options and deadlines. What is available depends on how you paid and where you live.

Next, use your receipt and account statement to identify the problem:

What happened? What to ask
You want the software fee back Ask the seller on the receipt about cancellation or a refund. Explain why you are requesting it.
Your trading balance fell Ask the broker for the trade history, charges and details of any trades still open.
A withdrawal has not arrived Ask the broker for its written reason, required steps and expected processing time. Keep the request date.

Keep the ad, receipts and messages together. If software or another person can still trade on your account, ask the broker how to remove that access safely and deal with open trades. Never share passwords or one-time codes.

Be wary of anyone who then asks for a fresh payment to unlock or recover the money.

What this review establishes

We have a matching regulatory warning and a saved advertising claim. We do not have verified customer-loss totals or evidence that every withdrawal is blocked. A disappointing result alone does not establish fraud.

Our Meta Ad Library check on 20 October 2026 showed this creative as active, with a start date of 8 October 2024. That is a record of what we saw, not proof of uninterrupted advertising or availability in every country.
